Summary

Communications & Content Specialist. Graduated with an MS from the Columbia Journalism School, as well as double Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in Print & Digital News with an emphasis on Science and Health Journalism, and from south China's Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in International Journalism, Yuan most recently wrote for Synced, a global publication with a focus on machine intelligence. She started her reporting and editing career back in high school. Before Synced, she worked for China Daily USA's Washington Bureau covering cultural, social, environmental and occasionally economic stories for the paper and its website. Prior to that, she was an education reporter for the Columbia Missourian as well as an intern for Global Science, Scientific American's Chinese edition. She finds journalism fascinating for it enables her to learn, travel, be inspired and hopefully inspire others by storytelling. With a special interest in botany, she also worked as a research assistant for a plant sciences lab of MU's Bond Life Science Center.
