  1. Process Control and Optimization Manage reagent control and consumption to enhance efficiency. Understanding fundamental process automation and control systems engineering. Develop and improve monitoring systems for reagent consumption and optimization. Utilizing SCADA, PI Vision, Computer programming, Microsoft suite, SQL and Power BI for data analysis and visualization to support process improvements. Understanding and utilizing PLC programming and various Advanced control systems for process control and improvement. Collaborating with various engineering teams to improve and upgrade process plant equipment. Identifying plant anomalies, including changes in froth characteristics, reagent flow irregularities, or mechanical issues, and escalated accordingly. 2. Metallurgy - Technical & Operations Conducted daily flotation tests, settling tests, and other lab-based metallurgical test work to analyze and determine optimal processing methods. Assisted in metallurgical accounting procedures, gaining foundational knowledge in material balance and reporting. Maintained high housekeeping standards and ensured compliance with HSE protocols, including prompt reporting and correction of unsafe conditions. Daily onsite inspections to monitor plant operations and troubleshoot issues.

My overall duty was to learn, understand and oversee the day to day plant operations and report to the Senior Plant Metallurgist. 1. Tailings Leach Plant Monitor and assess Pre leach, Leaching and Post Leach Operations. Monitor, assess and understand flocculant preparation for pre leach and post leach applications. Monitor, learn and assess Solvent Extraction Operations, reagent mixing and dosing, and streams management. Performed dip tests to determine advance, organic and crud levels in each stream. Maintaining optimum O/A ratios. Monitor, learn and understand Tank House operations — preparation of starter sheets, electro winning and pulling of copper cathodes. Monitor and understand process control systems at the control room. Conduct daily leaching, settling and fluidity tests at the main Metallurgical Lab. 2. Nchanga Concentrator Monitor, learn and assess operations at the Primary Crushers, Stockpile and Conveyance System. Monitor, learn and assess operations at the SAG & Ball Mills and the Primary & Secondary Cyclones. Monitor, understand and assess all operations at the Flotation Cells, Dewatering and Larox sections. Main Metallurgical Lab — conduct Milling Optimization, Sampling and Sample Preparation, Screen Analysis, Xanthate Preparation & dosing including solution strength determination, Flotation Optimization, High Tail losses control, Sampling of Concentrate, Sampling of Slurry and Solutions, Oven Calibration and Quick Wet Sieve Analysis.
