I am an exceptionally dedicated clinical practitioner working within the NHS Talking Therapies service, where I deliver high-volume, low-intensity interventions, primarily via telephone, while undertaking a comprehensive training programme for this role. I am proficient in providing a broad spectrum of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)-based self-management interventions to clients experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression, tailored to their individual needs and objectives. Patients can present with a wide range of difficulties such as OCD or Trauma. My responsibilities include promoting the psychological health and well-being of clients within a designated locality or team within the NHS Talking Therapies Service. I am an accredited practitioner by the British Psycholological Society in the United Kingdom (BPS).
I possess extensive experience working closely with clients presenting with mild to moderate anxiety and depression under supervision. I am capable of conducting psychological assessments and delivering interventions demonstrated to be clinically effective, either on an individual basis or within group settings, fostering self-help in accordance with the stepped care approach. I engage with clients both remotely and face-to-face, as well as through online video sessions, offering scheduled sessions ranging from 30 to 120 minutes.
My clinical activities encompass a diverse range of services, including telephone assessments, self-help guidance, computerised CBT, mental health promotion, primary care-based consultations, education, training, and psychoeducational group work. I collaborate with general practitioners and primary care staff to enhance access to resources and to promote mental health and emotional well-being. Additionally, I support the development of information systems, participate in service evaluations, outcome measurements, audits, and research projects aimed at benefiting service users.
I liase with other professionals, agencies, and community resources to advance service development, thereby enhancing access and choice. I am responsible for ensuring that clinical outcome data is systematically entered and appropriately collated. I also support the delivery of training, education, and foster strong partnership working.
I have substantial experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and of varying ages, ranging from children to older adults, often utilizing interpreters when English is not their first language. I am confident in delivering and co-facilitating psychoeducational courses on subjects such as managing long-term health conditions, perinatal support, anxiety management, and mood regulation.
Referrals are accepted in accordance with established protocols within the service. I assess and support individuals with common mental health issues in the self-management of their recovery. I conduct patient-centered interviews to identify areas where clients seek change or recovery, along with making accurate risk assessments for self and others. I determine the suitability of new referrals based on departmental protocols and refer unsuitable clients to appropriate services or back to the referral agent as necessary. When appropriate, I escalate treatment to higher intensity care.
I participate in multidisciplinary meetings related to referrals or clients in treatment, as applicable. I complete all data collection requirements and maintain coherent records of clinical activity in accordance with service protocols. I collaborate closely with team members to ensure appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements, maintaining the principles of stepped care.
Furthermore, I adhere to practice standards stipulated by the employer and relevant regulatory bodies, staying informed about new guidelines issued by healthcare authorities such as the NHS, the National Service Framework, and the National Institute for Clinical Excellence. I diligently protect client confidentiality at all times. To enhance my clinical skills, I establish, discuss, and review objectives regularly with senior therapists as part of my continuing professional development, attending weekly clinical and managerial supervision sessions weekly. Considering all the aforementioned points, I believe I am the most suitable candidate for this role, as I possess the necessary knowledge, confidence, and empathy to positively impact the clients/pupils in China. I can build a strong rapport with any individual I am willing to relocate for this position should I be granted the opportunity.
As a strong advocate for a holistic approach to counselling, I believe that collaboration between students, parents, and teachers is essential in creating a supportive environment. My commitment goes beyond addressing immediate concerns, as I aim to equip students with lifelong skills that enable them to grow into confident, well-rounded individuals. I'm keen to become a valued part of this school's nurturing community. My aim is to provide a safe haven for students in times of need, whilst also serving as a valuable resource and source of support for parents and caregivers.
