According to the Order of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia No. 2 -407
dated January 6, 2018, I was a member of the Working Group on Food Safety within the framework of the
"ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community
and their Member States, of the one part, and Georgia, of the other part" Deep and Comprehensive Free
Trade Agreement (DCFTA). As a WG member, I participated in the translation and alignment of Georgian
legislation with the EU regarding food safety in accordance with the National Approximation Plan
2015-2027 and took part in the drafting of various sectoral technical regulations.

I provided technical support in the implementation of the project activities at the national level, prepared and
managed budgets, monitored progress, and evaluated the success of the activities.

Search and translate locally and internationally available scientific information on food safety, quality, and
food hazards. Collaboration with European and local institutions (EFSA, FAO, WHO Codex Alimentarius).
Participate in the harmonization of international food risk assessment guidelines; Raise consumer
awareness of food risks, risk assessment, and their outcomes; Participate in the harmonization and
development of technical-scientific recommendations based on farm-to-table principles, identify chemical,
physical, and biological threats throughout the production chain, and participate in the organization and
evaluation of risk assessment procedures.
While working at Risk Assessment Service I participated in the assessment of the following issues:
1. Scientists' conclusion - Evaluation of the impact of industrial trans fats on human health.
2. Recommendations/annex of Trans fat Risk Assessment (Based on recommendations Government
adopted two Normative acts: 1. Government Decree of Georgia #262 of 2016 June 13th - Setting norm for
Trans fat content from infant to young children (0- 7 years) food 0%, adult food 2%/2 gr in
100 gr (Entered into force from 1st of August 2017) vegetable fat content. 2. Order of Government of
Georgia 2567 of 2015 November 27th on elaborating action plan and further activities to implement Decree
#262.
3. Assessment of high pathogenic H5N1 flu in poultry;
4. Risk assessment of Listeria monocytogenes in ready-to-eat food and categorization of high-risk food.
5. Risk Assessment of Campylobacter in foods of animal origin.
6. Risk assessment of salmonella in the frozen, mechanically separated poultry meat.;
7. Risk Assessment of inorganic arsenic in food and its impact on the population of Georgia.
8. Scientists' conclusion - Risks associated with palm fat;
9. Recommendations of Risk Assessment Service on management of risks associated with palm oil.
