I worked in the travel industry from 1982. In 2008, I moved from the UK to Spain and continued working in the travel industry remotely. Although I am based in Spain, I have worked remotely for companies in the USA, UK, Greece and China. I am self-employed and freelance. I pay my taxes in Spain. I am self-disciplined and can work to deadlines. My work is accurate, and I am an efficient and adaptable person. In 2016/2017, I qualified as a proofreader with the College of Media and Publishing, London. Initially I did this as a hobby because I was working full time in the travel industry. Due to the Covid pandemic and the drastic changes in the travel industry, I have been working freelance in this field to a greater extent and have been editing and proofreading books for Cobalt Fairy, a publishing house based in Greece (historical romance novels between 60,000 and 80,000 words), and for Publify Consulting based in Florida as a basic editor/proofreader (memoirs of around 120,000 words). From June 2020 until April 2024, I have been working for Higgs Technologies on the Romance Fate team proofreading interactive stories. I have proofread most of the books written by US author, Charlene Raddon. She is also an Amazon bestselling author. I have also worked very closely with Charlene on as couple of her books, assisting with character development and plot. I have some experience in using The Chicago Manual of Style.
