Summary
My name is Duncan Moore and I am a PGA Professional of over 29 years.
I am a highly skilled golf coach, confident, outgoing and up for any challenge. I am currently employed at Gloucester Golf Club where I was approached to develop their Pro Shop and golf academy. In just a few months I have built a state of the art Trackman studio and our academy has 24 new juniors joined in the last month alongside over 50 new clients who are receiving coaching from myself. However, after working in UK golf clubs for the past 29 years, I am looking for a new challenge.
I currently act as Lead Coach of the development squad at Hartpury College, with a group of students aspiring towards scholarship in the US. Since taking on this role, I have firstly set to task aligning them with clear analysis, understanding, instruction and the method to move things forward.
I have introduced a disciplined approach, to include stretching programs before any session or play, disciplined pre shot routines that actually benefit their shot and a shot outcome management system of their own for their records. We explore all elements of golf including mindset with students having a much greater understanding of what their swing really requires based on their own physical values and physical literacy. The students appreciate one another’s swings in each individual and bespoke way. Each student has their own personal notes and screencast video analysis emailed every session.
At the forefront of all, sessions are very positive and a happy process is maintained for everyone’s engagement and clarity, providing consistent enjoyable improvement.
The leading tutors that took the sessions prior to my appointment have expressed how they have seen a huge improvement in attitude, engagement, and swings have efficiently normalised producing far better strike and consistency for all whilst developing their full games in general. A number of my students also play for the England squad.
I currently coach a student who is attending Mississippi University on a golf scholarship. I coach him remotely using Trackman and TeamViewer, whilst pursuing his Masters. Data is collected from his practice and playing, to then analyse and progress plans and strategies with both practice and coaching.
All students have a scheduled plan on and off the course, but also one that is bespoke to the needs of each individual. As you’re aware we all champion certain areas of the game and have weaknesses elsewhere and it is for me to bespoke each plan to each players' game and maximise their skills and potential.
I am very interested in a golf coaching role as I believe there is a vast amount of potential with young aspiring golfers in the East. I believe I have the skills and knowledge to take these students to a pinnacle level creating easy pathways to golf scholarships.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Duncan

Golf Coach
Gloucester Golf Club
2023.01-Current(2 years)
UK (Head Professional)
I was approached by Gloucester Golf Club to open a new Trackman academy at their golf course which was not an opportunity to be missed. Gloucester Golf Club is a very new members club (7 years) and I was brought in to develop an academy there. This has been established in a short few months with 24 brand new juniors and over 50 academy members. I have also been offered the role of head coach of the development squad at a local private sports college.

In 2021 I opened my own indoor Trackman academy, with 3 indoor bays, incorporating the UK’s largest indoor short game area. I believe that golf has completely evolved, and my aim was to deliver a centre of excellence that delivers all year round.

Cotswolds, UK (Head Professional)
Golf Coach
Northcliffe Golf Club
2011.01-2017.01(6 years)
West Yorkshire, UK (Head Professional)
Northcliffe Golf Club was my first Head Professional role and in 2017 I relocated to the prestigious Burford Golf Club in the Cotswolds. Upon arriving at both clubs, I stripped out and redesigned the internal layout to deliver a better customer experience, effectively rebuilding the Professional Shop interior, including relighting and an improved alarm system. My fully stocked shop reflected my in-depth technical understanding of modern changes in hardware, based upon specific technological features inclusive of brand popularity together with up-to-the-minute clothing trends. I displayed a complete range of services and brands, including hardware, demo clubs, clothing, logos, accessories, refreshments, club fitting and I offered lessons on all forms of the game. I was a member of the Foremost buying group, enabling me to compete in today’s market, providing members with the very best prices available. I also invested in the EMP Marketing Programme enabling members to have the highest possible experience from their Professional.
I owned and operated an EPOS system that tracked every penny spent in the shop, but not just my retail operation, it also includes all Green Fees, Buggy rentals, competitions entries, 2’s clubs, Visiting Parties, and deposits taken.
I designed and built from scratch a state-of-the-art golf simulator in a dedicated facility within the Clubhouse using the latest technology from Foresight Golf, where I can coach members and visitors, club fit, run competitions and allow Club Teams (scratch and juniors) to practise in all weathers.
I lead the Club’s initiatives in junior golf. I delivered coaching at Bradford Grammar School, Bingley Grammar School, Beckfoot School & Burford School creating a progressive pathway for junior golfers. Each year we provided free coaching at The Bingley Show and invited all attendees to the Club for group coaching, with designs to membership acquisition. Year on year Get into Golf, Golf Roots, Junior Golf Passport and working towards GolfMark enable us to access grants to further development of the Club’s juniors and the local community.
Throughout my career I have had great demand for my repair skills and can guarantee the delivery of a reputable service.
Active in Social Media terms, I manage the Golf Club’s and my own business Facebook and Twitter accounts.
I was responsible for the organisation and running of the club's competitions for its approx. 500 members. As a minimum this comprises two minor tournaments (30-70 players) and one major competition (135-170 players) per week.
As well as providing on course playing lessons, I enjoy playing in ProAms and socially with members and especially enjoy the camaraderie and bonding which this brings.
Golf Coach
Keighley Golf Club
2004.01-2011.01(7 years)
West Yorkshire, UK (PGA Qualified Professional)
With adults and visitors to Keighley Golf Club, I ran single and group lessons on a daily basis. In 2009 I initiated a Short Game Clinic to which golfers subscribed. I guaranteed short game improvement in a matter of weeks. My clinic proved immensely popular with over 60 pupils and has achieved huge success with incredible stories at all ability levels.
Whilst at Keighley I engaged in TriGolf and GolfExtreme Junior Coaching Programmes delivering to 30 primary and 3 secondary schools.
With the junior section at Keighley Golf Club, I concentrated on strengthening the team and handicap improvement for the rest of the section. On the strength of my local reputation, I had also been invited to coach junior sections at various other local golf clubs and schools. My passion for the game promoted and increased the popularity of the game amongst youngsters.
The organisation of club tournaments, educating and enforcing the rules of golf, repairing golf clubs and other equipment, running a successful well stocked professional shop and playing regularly with members were all essential precursors for the move to Northcliffe Golf Club.
Golf Coach
Ilkley Golf Club
1997.01-2004.01(7 years)

As an amateur member at Ilkley Golf Club (Colin Montgomerie’s amateur home course and Mark James’ home course), I turned professional in 2000 and enrolled in the PGA Diploma Course completing my apprenticeship in 2003. It was at Ilkley Golf Club where I laid the foundations for my career in professional golf: gaining experience in the business and commercial aspects of running a professional shop, learning the art of coaching and teaching and overall developing my personal and enthusiastic approach to carrying out the role of Club Professional.
