My name is Dimitris Orfanidis, recently ex-Zhong Ou AM, Director of Business Development (resigned). During my time with ZhongOu AMC (one of China’s leading private AMCs; Peak AUM USD 110bil) I introduced 83 major banks, 8 Sovereign Wealth Funds, numerous Insurers, Pension Funds, Family Offices, AMCs as well as additional relevant Financial Institutions notably Regulatory Authorities, Central Banks and National Development Banks across Europe and the Middle East region, as direct client opportunities, various potential cooperation aspects as well as for the purpose of regulatory compliance. The focus was to white-label existing onshore strategies in partnership with leading European Banks as new funds, with successful cases in France, Switzerland and Germany as well as distribution agreements for existing products covering various territories (as well as raising additional AUM for non-fund products - Distressed Chinese Bonds Strategy packaged as note). What I also did was to initiate and re/focus the company attention towards the Middle East (GCC). From the above mentioned introduced +80 banks, ≈ 50 are in Europe and ≈30 in the GCC. My institutional reach also certainly includes APAC region as well as LATAM. A special point I want to share with you, is my recognition of a unique market segment opportunity. During my systemic approach of covering the markets, I recognized the opportunity and developed my Islamic Compliant Finance capabilities and expertise, which would allow both fixed income as well enquiry strategies (China thematics) to be established as funds and distributed via partner institutions. This should be considered pioneering* in the context of the industry & certainly applicable to many other thematics.  Recent update: For several months I was awaiting to take on an excellent position with one of the leading Chinese Financial Institutions, however in the last few days (June 2025) very unfortunately I found out that due to upcoming Senior Management resignations my entry is most likely jeopardized. Thefore I am now again seeking new opportunities. I have also been assisting in an advisory position to personal family businesses in Europe, while exploring opportunities to re-enter Institutional Asset Management industry in Hong Kong.
