Desktop EngineerResponsibilitiesTo help deliver AVTech’s strategy the successful candidate will be responsible for:Providing user & workstation service desk support at client sites remotely & by phone;Diagnosing, resolving/escalating, following-up and closing client IT problems by applying appropriate solutions to achieve service restoration;Communicating with third parties (e.g. Telecommunications Providers, Internet Service Providers and Hardware/Software Vendors) during problem resolutions;Escalating issues to internal team members and management as appropriate;Ensuring that client issues are satisfactorily resolved and “case tickets” closed in a timely manner;Appropriate handling of internal service desk systems, policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure continuous improvement of services;Prepared to travel outside of Shanghai.Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Personality AttributesTo help deliver AVTech’s strategy the successful candidate MUST HAVE the following skills, experience, qualifications and personality attributes:Skills & Experience2+ years experience in user/desktop support (any server administration/support would be an advantage);Excellent communication and written skills in English & Chinese;Knowledge & strong interest in general ICT hardware and software;Proactive and team oriented;Knowledge and experience in Service Desk, ITIL processes would be an advantage;Ideal technical experience;Microsoft Windows 7 installation and troubleshooting;Microsoft Office 20xx installation and troubleshooting;Corporate antivirus installation and troubleshooting;HP / IBM / Lenovo / DELL desktop and notebook hardware configurations;Citrix clients would be an advantage;Lotus Notes clients would be an advantage;Apple MAC and/or Linux OS would be an advantage.QualificationsAt least one industry certification;Candidates with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline to aid in the role described.Personality AttributesProfessionally presented.
