Broad knowledge of low cost sourcing in SE Asia, and in particular strong sourcing in China, India and Vietnam.Market knowledge and some technical knowledge of product groupings such as Metal, Plastics and ElectronicsManage specific customer purchasing program and co-ordinate with Malaysia office and UK operations, NPI and customer services teams to support existing and future business.Responsibilities to include:Knowledge and experience of sourcing in SE Asia and in particular China, India and VietnamSourcing for new business enquiries including cost modellingKnowledge of(all or some)metalwork,casting, plastics and electronics sourcingResponsible for organizing and participating in the selection and management of suppliers in Asia, building long-term and stable partnership with suppliers according to company’s procurement strategies, keep consistent supply, reduce the synthetically cost of procurement and obtain competitive advantage in procurement area Understanding supplier costs and technical understanding of manufacturing processes.Planning and execution of procurement and logistics activities to meet projects requirements with regards to costs and schedules. Apply cost effective procurement strategies and cost reduction program. Execution of procurement procedures (Bidding/Bid Handling, Vendor Selection, Technical/ Commercial Evaluation, Delegation of Authority, Post PO Management). Organize periodically communications sessions and travel to suppliers according to the categorization management and to build good relationship with suppliers.Responsible for overall China procurement activities which includes contracting, procurement, expediting, shipping, exportation, customs procedures, logistics, and materials control.Manage returns / rejects relating to purchases under control
