In this role, you will conduct both independent and collaborative research as part of a defence funded project focused on developing robust multimodal foundational models for continual situational understanding. Specifically, the role will focus on developing adversarial models and attacks to evaluate the robustness and security of the model, as well as proposing effective defence methodologies.This position offers the opportunity to advance your scholarly research and professional activities on both national and international levels. Skills And Experience PhD (or soon to be awarded) in computer science, electrical engineering or related area with demonstrated experience in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Experience in researching on adversarial AI attacks and defence strategies. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision. Demonstrated track record of publications in top-rated journals and conferences in the discipline. Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, external clients and students. Ability to supervise undergraduate students or equivalent experience in the supervision of junior staff in related projects. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
