- At least 20 lessons per week. - Teach to students at assigned grade level. - Engage in curriculum development, including writing effective and diverse curriculum units using Understanding by Design (UbD) based on the school's curriculum format. - Design authentic assessments and measure their effectiveness in meeting curriculum objectives. - Direct and coordinate student performances at special events during the school year, including (but not limited to) the annual Winter Concert, Musical Theater Club, Spring Festival, and other school events. - Promote our school's Schoolwide Expected Learning Results (ESLRs): global citizenship, active learners, healthy individuals, and people of character. - Maintain and update student records, including grading, in a timely manner (homework, gradebooks, progress reports, report cards, student attendance, and other necessary documentation). - Actively participate in (at least two) extracurricular activities as a teacher sponsor/advisor/coach/helper/school committee member. - Actively perform assigned supervisory duties, which may include supervising students during computer lab open hours, lunch breaks, substitutes, and other duties. - Ability to work closely with students who are close in English proficiency. - Work closely with parents/guardians to provide feedback on student progress and academic and behavioral interventions as needed, answer questions, and be a partner in their education whenever possible. - Actively participate in required meetings (department meetings, grade level meetings).
