Global Vice President Development and Innovation of PackagingPosition OverviewWe are conducting a confidential search on behalf of a global, multi-billion-dollar consumer goods company to appoint a Global Vice President of Development and Innovation for Packaging. This is a high-impact executive role designed for a bold and visionary leader with a proven track record in sustainable packaging, technical innovation, and cross-regional leadership.This position reports directly to the Global Chief Technology Officer and plays a pivotal role in the organization’s innovation leadership. The role manages a department of over 40 professionals globally, including leaders in Packaging Science, Equipment, R&D, and Technology.As the Global VP, you will set the strategic direction for the packaging function globally, leading innovation in design, materials, and technology. You’ll spearhead sustainability efforts aligned with global ESG goals, transform packaging systems to improve efficiency, and drive breakthrough solutions that delight consumers while reducing environmental impact.Key Responsibilities • Define and implement a global packaging strategy that aligns with corporate sustainability, innovation, and cost-efficiency targets. • Lead end-to-end innovation across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. Champion new materials, smart packaging technologies, and automation to enhance consumer experience and operational performance. • Drive packaging sustainability efforts, including reduction of plastic use, carbon footprint, and implementation of circular economy principles. • Oversee global R&D programs and forge partnerships with leading research institutions, suppliers, and technology firms to stay at the forefront of packaging science. • Inspire, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing team across regions. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Ensure all packaging meets global regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
