The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in demanding underground and high-altitude environments, ensuring strict compliance with safety protocols and project deadlines.Key Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain 380V electrical systems for construction equipment and temporary power supply. Perform electrical wiring and connections in underground environments (e.g., tunnels, powerhouse). Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety regulations (Nepal OSHA/IEC standards). Troubleshoot electrical faults in construction machinery, generators, and distribution panels. Collaborate with engineers and construction teams to optimize electrical layouts for hydroelectric infrastructure. Maintain accurate records of electrical work, inspections, and safety checks.Project Background Type: Run-of-river hydropower plant with 2 9.5m dam, 9.8 km tunnel, and underground powerhouse. Timeline: 5-year construction (2021–2026). Stakeholders: Funded by international banks; power purchaser is Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).Terms & Conditions Contract Type: Fixed term Salary: Competitive, based on experience + overtime pay Benefits: Accommodation provided (remote site) and meals as per company policy. Job Requirements
Requirements Mandatory: Valid electrician’s license/certification recognized by Nepalese authorities. Proven experience in managing 380V+ industrial/commercial electrical systems. In-depth knowledge of safety protocols (lockout-tagout, PPE, hazard mitigation). Ability to interpret electrical schematics and blueprints. Preferred: Prior experience in hydroelectric projects, especially underground/cave environments. Familiarity with tunnel electrical systems (lighting, ventilation, cable management). Basic understanding of hydropower-specific equipment (turbines, transformers, switchgear). Soft Skills: Physical stamina to work in rugged, high-altitude environments. Adaptability to extreme weather and irregular shifts. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
