For the past twelve years, I have served as IB Academic Principal and Diploma Programme Coordinator at a leading international school in Beijing. In this role, I led a large and diverse faculty, guided curriculum development, and oversaw the successful implementation of the IB Diploma Programme. These experiences have deepened my understanding of effective leadership—building collaborative teams, promoting teacher professional growth, and creating learning environments where students think critically, act ethically, and take ownership of their learning. Earlier in my career, I held teaching and leadership positions in Colombia, where I gained valuable insights into how diverse cultural and educational contexts shape learning. I bring a combination of strategic leadership experience and academic depth, including a Doctorate in Education (in progress) and Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Engineering. Beyond my school leadership roles, I have served the IB community as an examiner, consultant, site visitor, and workshop leader, supporting schools in accreditation, curriculum planning, and teacher training. These experiences have reinforced my belief that the most successful schools are those where leadership, faculty, and students collaborate around a shared mission of excellence and well-being. What excites me most about this opportunity is the chance to contribute to a school that values personalized learning, professional collaboration, and student agency.
