I am confident that my advanced qualification in the field of education (Up to PhD level), my professional work experience in teaching English as a second language in various contexts and my enthusiasm for teaching, make me an ideal candidate for this role. I have a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Sciences (Education) from a prestigious university in the United Kingdom, the University of Stirling. I also hold an International Master of Education (Int’l MEd) degree from the University of Oulu, Finland; a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from the University of Namibia plus many other academic and professional qualifications. I have over 15 years of teaching English as a second language in secondary schools in various countries such as South Africa, Malawi, Namibia and Finland. Apart from my vast school teaching experience, I also hold a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge, thus I have also taught English as a foreign language to young adults and adults from various non-English speaking countries. Also, while pursuing my doctoral studies at the University of Stirling (UK), I taught English for Academic Purposes as well as Business English to adult students. I am passionate about teaching and learning and have a great deal of enthusiasm for education planning in general and teaching English as a foreign language in particular. I am a patient and understanding instructor who enjoys helping students learn and grow. I have a deep understanding of the different teaching methods and can easily adjust my teaching style to meet the needs of my students. Additionally, I am able to effectively manage a classroom and ensure that students are engaged in the material. I am also proficient in various educational technologies and am comfortable incorporating them into my lessons. All in all, I have over 20 years of extensive work experience having served as a teacher, teacher trainer, Senior Research Associate and Education Specialist. As you can see in my CV (attached), I have many years of work with reputable international non-governmental organisations (INGOs). This has given me real practical skills, knowledge and experience in education development and Education project management, which is an asset in my teaching profession. Thus, my professional experience in the academia and in the education development private sector has enhanced my skills in the field of teaching and learning. I am a South African citizen but currently serving as Head of Education Department and Lecturer at the Gaborone Commercial College of Higher Studies, which is part of the Gaborone University College, here in Botswana. Please note that apart from the normal working time, I will also be more than willing to put in voluntary work hours as I have great passion for education development work within the humanitarian context. Additionally, my schedule is flexible, and I would be willing to teach as many hours as possible during the week including Saturdays and Sundays, if needed.
