With a business acumen finely honed through years of industry experience, Bill Bourke’s career achievements prove that it is indeed possible to catch lightning in a bottle. Bill has demonstrated his ability to excel at sales leadership roles in both the consumer electronics and wireless industries. With JVC Co of America, he achieved great success in both the sales and product management disciplines. The Japanese philosophy, “Any explanation for failure is simply an excuse,” became firmly ingrained in Bill during this time. Bill launched himself into the wireless industry as VP of Sales with American Wireless – the premiere and, first of its kind, carrier-Master Agent. There, he gained valuable executive experience, drove sales by effectively managing a national sales team, and maintained full P&L accountability. Next, as National Channel Sales Manager with SONY, in a declining product category, Bill was successful in maintaining the previous year's revenue levels. Bill was instrumental in the successful launch of the Net New product called Dash which exceeded first year budget goal by 177%. Bill also excelled in creating budgets for the sales team, maximizing MDF spends, and growing share numbers of key strategic categories. Bill was then promoted into a Senior Channel Management position with SONY’s Digital Imaging Group responsible for the Handycam category. During Bill’s tenure, the growth of the Handycam market share surpassed all previous company highs. He continued to maintain responsibility for budget creation and MDF spends, but would also launch new technologies of Action Cam and ILC high end pro-sumer cams strategically developed to revitalize the camcorder category. He also implemented, in union with the field sales team, Sony’s strategic investment pricing program which effectively rewards dealers for excellence in retail execution.
