The International School of Sanya2022.09-Current(4 years)My experience at The International School of Sanya has been incredibly rewarding. Throughout the academic year 2022-23 the school was seeking IB accreditation which required a great deal of collaboration between all different subject departments. I’m proud to say the school received the accreditation. Teaching across the grades has been great, offering plenty of challenges and opportunities in equal measures. The curriculum I have designed incorporates a balance of practical music making (drum pads/kit, keyboards, ukulele, singing and non-pitched percussion), listening skills and theoretical knowledge (the elements of music).teacher
HH International Science Kindergarten2019.08-2022.08(3 years)I joined Hsuanhuai Institute prior to the schools opening in 2019 and have seen the school develop and grow between then and now. We started with less than 30 children and have expanded beyond the initial capacity to just below 400 children in the school. It has been incredibly rewarding to be part of the team and see the hard work culminate in a successful school and business. Having taught at the school since it’s foundation I have been involved in developing the schedule, curriculum and integrated nature of a foreign teachers role in the educational programme. I enjoy leading training sessions, offering support to new staff and sharing activities with my fellow teachers. I truly value my experience working at Hsuanhuai but would like to broaden my knowledge and improve my teaching practice by moving on to another educational institution.Lead homeroom teacher
Wanshengyi Kindergarten2018.09-2019.07(a year)My role as the classroom teacher consisted of conducting structured lessons, free- play activities, small group work, outdoor/physical activities, art and crafts and the broader care and supervision needed when working with children of such a young Phone/Wechat: 15927334319 E-mail: benedict.tweedie@outlook.com St Hilda’s CE High School Liverpool - September - December 2016 I completed 11 Weeks (Wednesday-Friday), combining observation with a classroom assistant’s role, teaching lessons and extra-curricular responsibilities. I received good observation feedback and lesson planning assessment. School based observation - 10 days I completed 5 days at Tudor Grange Academy Solihull and a further 5 days at Newent Community School. Based in their respective music departments primarily and also completing pupil pursuits to gauge a larger range of teaching styles across a range of subjects. Youth Club voluntary work In addition to my secondary school work experience, my voluntary work at a local inner city youth club was very rewarding. Having approached the centre to deliver music/guitar tuition I began by assisting in the general running and supervision of the evening club. The age group was 8-11 so proved as another great contrast to all previous educational experience. Moving on to teaching basic guitar with small groups was a valuable experience to draw from in the future. Additional personal Interests My broader interests include fitness, the outdoors, music and the arts. Music related: I am a keen practicing musician and continue to love the learning process involved with playing an instrument (guitar, trumpet, piano). References: *Available on request
