China's Foreign Ministry: China decides to try unilateral visa-free policy for six countries including France and Germany

In order to further promote the exchange of people between China and foreign countries and serve high-quality development and high-level opening-up, China has decided to expand the scope of unilateral visa-free countries on a trial basis, and implement the policy of unilateral visa-free entry for holders of ordinary passports from six countries, namely, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia, on a trial basis.

During the period from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024, holders of ordinary passports from the above countries who come to China for doing business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends and transiting for not more than 15 days will be allowed to enter China visa-free. Persons from the above countries who are not eligible for visa-free access are still required to obtain visas for China before entering the country.
