Teaching English in China Requirements for 2022
China's 2022 teaching English requirements are simple. Unless, of course, they're not. Many people are perplexed by the requirements for becoming a foreign teacher, particularly given the fact that there are certain exceptions to the norm. However, by 2022 (thanks to COVID! ), things will be much more complicated. That's why we're here, after all...
As of 2022, the most important need for someone looking to teach English in China is the ability to speak Chinese.
A WORKING VISA THAT IS VALID!
Having a Z-Visa in your passport is the most important criterion for teaching in China. The only other option for lawfully working in the nation is to get one of these visas. As a result, people who want to teach English in China must meet the visa's criteria.
Permission to teach in China is, in this sense, rather straightforward. A Z Visa allows you to work in education. Easy!
Teaching English in China: What You Need to Know Before Applying
The requirements for obtaining a Z visa range from your nationality and age to your educational background and a few other important details. Many of the regulations outlined below have exceptions, which you should be aware of. All of them will be included at the conclusion of the tutorial for the sake of simplicity and sharing.
The following are the main Z Visa requirements:
What nationality do you have?
For this program to work, you must be a citizen of one of seven authorized countries: UK/Ireland; US; Canada; Australasia;
People from these seven nations are allowed to teach English to pupils in China. We're aware that things don't always work that way, but let's face it: their home, their rules.
You must be a native English speaker in order to participate in this program.
There's a lot of overlap between this rule and the previous one. You'd best be fluent in Chinese if you want to be an English teacher in China.
A bachelor's degree is required.
Another foreign instructor with a Bachelor's degree is also wanted by China. However, the good news is that the degree may be in any field you want. There is no need that it be related to education or the study of English.
Have You Earned Your Bachelor's Degree in Inflatable Balloon Animal Construction? You may teach English in China if your degree is recognized as valid in your nation.
Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) credential must be recognized and authorized.
To teach English in China in 2022, a TEFL* certificate is a vital necessity. The easiest way to do this is via one of the numerous organizations that provide world-class training online. You may start your teaching profession anywhere in the globe with TEFL certification, which is fairly priced.
You must have a clean criminal background check from your home country in order to work in the United States.
We think it's reasonable that China doesn't want any hardened foreign criminals living in its midst. If you want to get a Z Visa, you must establish that you have no criminal record (also known as a "Police Check").
Do not be alarmed if you have a few small violations on your record; they are actually only interested in your criminal history.

Don't forget to have your papers validated for the visa application once you have them all.
You must be between the ages of 18 and 60 (men) or 55 and 60 (women) (women)
For foreign instructors, this is the age at which they must also adhere by Chinese labor laws.
In Chinese schools, the desired age range is quite clear. At least 25 years old (particularly if they want instructors with a lot of expertise in the profession) and probably no older than 45 are typical requirements for teachers.
As a rule of thumb, kindergartens aim to screen for things like energy levels and such.
If you're between the ages of 25 and 45, you should inquire as soon as possible about a school's age requirement. This is an excellent approach to ensure that you're not wasting your time, since not everyone mentions it in their job application.
Two medical examinations are required.
In order for you to teach in China, the Chinese government wants to make sure that you are physically and mentally fit. The country's primary concern is preventing the unintentional introduction of disease.
For example, HIV, hepatitis, and TB will all be tested during the medical exam.
In most cases, when you apply for a Z Visa, you'll need to have your initial medical examination at a registered medical institution in your country. Once you arrive in China, you'll be subjected to a second medical examination, which is mandatory.
In the past, it was possible to get a medical checkup in China after you'd left the country. This is no longer the case, though. That is no longer the case in 2022. A second medical exam is required.
You need not be concerned; your Chinese employer will assist you with this procedure.
