Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology (JICT) invites applications for short term instructor to teach undergraduate course in English Writing in Spring 2019 (Mid May-June). Candidates will be working in Jilin, China, in a joint program with a U.S. university.Course Description:1.College English Writing (48 teaching hours) - This course instructs students in the basic skills of expository and argumentative writing. Students will be taught the following:Techniques to write effective expository and argumentative proseTechniques to read, understand, analyze, and respond to expository and argumentative proseInvention strategies; techniques to develop a thesis, unity, and coherence in a piece of writingWays to anticipate and address audience expectationsParagraph structure, transitions, logical developmentChoice of appropriate diction; development of sentence structure and style; understanding of connotations and denotationsRevision, editing, proofreading

Qualifications: Master's degree in related field is preferred for undergraduate instruction.TEFL or TESOL certificate is preferred;Fluent in both written and spoken English. English native speaker is preferred;Patient and enthusiastic for teaching with high sense of responsibility;More than 3 years’ teaching or training experience is preferred;Understanding American higher education system, test methods and requirements.
