Shaoguan college is a full-time comprehensive general undergraduate university affiliated to Guangdong Province, which is the awarding unit of bachelor's degree. It is located in Shaoguan, a famous historical and cultural city in the north of Guangdong Province, where Danxia Mountain of the World Geopark and Nanhua Temple of Zen ancestral hall are located. Shaoguan normal college was founded in 1958 to hold higher education; it was merged with Shaoguan University in 1989 to be named Shaoguan University; it was merged with Shaoguan Education College in 2000 to become an ordinary undergraduate college and renamed Shaoguan College; in 2001 and 2002, Shaozhou normal branch and medical college with independent legal qualification and subordinate to Shaoguan City successively attached to Shaoguan college.
