  Currently, I am a Research Scientist (Team Lead) in Sai Life Sciences Ltd, Genome Valley, and Hyderabad, India. I completed my PhD & Post-doc in the fields of Solid state Chemistry, Chromatography, and X-Ray Crystallography in Solid state & Structural chemistry Unit (SSCU) dept at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India. In my current role, working on Process analytical, Spectroscopic, Particle and Structural characterization studies towards drug intermediates, KSM, final API solid forms along with support for screening the Polymorphs, Solvates, Hydrates, Salts, Amorphous solids by various analytical techniques, and responsible for project planning, supervision, operations & analyses, calibrations, and reports (including of scientific articles) for various pharmaceutical solid forms and involves in client meetings to address the issues like polymorphic forms, qualitative & quantitative identification studies of them, and particle size & shape of particular forms. Very recently I have been received the best employee award that named as ‘Saimer of the Quarter-2024’ from the organization with respect of outstanding contribution towards problem solving nature & my achievements towards the various projects to deliver within timelines.

  As “Research Specialist R&D” worked for Semi solids (i.e mainly Ointments, Suspensions, emulsions etc) and Solid orals (Tablets, Capsules, etc.) including of API's of their Pre-formulation evaluation, structural elucidation and physicochemical characterization towards the In-processed/finished dosages & stability samples that successfully examined to Innovator products for their bioequivalence requirements as per ICH guidelines.

  During my PhD (Jun 2013 - Jul 2018) with one year Post-doctoral research (Aug 2018 - Jul 2019) at IISc, Bengaluru, mainly focused in fields of Co-crystallization studies on i.) Small molecules (Co-crystals, Ionic co-crystals, Molecular salts, and Organic eutectics), and ii.) Design, and synthesis of potent, specific Anthrapyrazolone analogues as inhibitors of JNK (MAP kinase family) proteins with an evaluation of chemical, and biological properties of them. In brief, I have been designed, prepared, and structure-property relationships of novel supramolecular solids such as Polymorphs, Co-crystals, Pharmaceutical salts, and eutectics to improve physicochemical properties and bioavailability profiles of drugs through various Spectroscopic, thermal and X-ray diffraction and crystallography studies. Further, designed, and synthesized various Anthrapyrazolone analogues for inhibition of JNK proteins to understand the structural and functional aspects of protein-ligand complex at molecular level using various biophysical (Mass, MST, thermal assays etc) and biochemical assays (SERS) and well versed with various analytical techniques like HPLC, NMR, FTIR/NIR, UV-Vis., Raman, DSC, TGA, DVS, DLS, SEM, Microscopic techniques (i.e Polarized & Hot Stage Microscopy), Particle size analyzer (Malvern Mastersizer & nano Zetasizer), BET Specific surface area, and Crystal structure analysis by SCXRD & PXRD. During this time, I had been having for an opportunity to work in interdisciplinary fields like biochemistry and gained a good knowledge on the structure-property relationship between chemistry and pharmaceutical fields. I have been taught for organic & physical chemistry courses in specialization for Spectroscopy, Microscopy, X-ray crystallography & thermal study topics during my PhD & post-doc period towards the small molecules & pharmaceutical drug molecules. Further, I have been guided the Graduate students (PhDs, Masters & Project assistants) during my Post-doc and PhD time.
