Summary
I joined the school of Physical Sciences in 2009 as a Lecturer in Chemistry Department after the completion of my BTech degree in Industrial Chemistry from Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. I proceeded for my MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK in 2010 which was funded by UK Commonwealth scholarship. I was awarded a PTDF scholarship and Westminster Cavendish research scholarship to pursue my PhD in Microbial Electrochemistry in 2011, which was completed in 2015. After my PhD completion, I returned to the university and continue offering my services to the University till date.
My research focus is in the following research areas: Electrochemistry, material chemistry Bioelectrochemical Systems (BESs-MEC,MFC,MDC), Biosorption of contaminants using biomass and nano-materials, bioremediation, production of biopolymers and their blends for packaging, medical and industrial applications, biorefinery, Value added fuels/chemicals from BES, Nanomaterials synthesis & Applications, Electrochemistry, Anaerobic Digestion-BES Hybrid systems.
