National Immigration Administration Further Adjusts Policies of Foreigners’Visas and Entry In order to better coordinate COVID-19 prevention and control with economic and social development, and to facilitate personnel exchanges between China and other countries, National Immigration Administration decides to adjust policies of foreigners’ visas and entry from 0:00 on March 15, 2023. 1, Foreigners with valid visas issued before March 28, 2020 will be allowed to enter China. 2, The following visa-free policies will be resumed: Hainan 59 country visa-free entry policy, 15-Day visa-free travel for cruise groups at Shanghai ports, visa-free entry to Guangdong Province for foreigners’ group from Hong Kong and Macao SARs, visa-free entry to Guilin of Guangxi Autonomous Region for tourist groups from ASEAN countries. In addition, in the announcement issued by the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, there are two other policies mentioned: 1, Visa authorities stationed abroad shall resume all types of visas for foreigners to visit China. 2, Port visa authorities shall resume all kinds of port visas that meet the legal reasons. On March 13 and 14, a number of Chinese embassies issued a Notice on Further Adjusting Visa and Entry Policies for Foreigners in China, which proposed a number of important relaxations for the issuance and entry of visas for foreigners in China. This is the latest policy to reopen the border. If necessary, inbound passengers are advised to consult their local Chinese embassy or consulate for more detailed requirements and application procedures. With the latest policy changes, restrictions on tourist and medical visa applications will finally be lifted. Foreigners will be able to travel to China more easily for a variety of purposes.
