Apply for a China Visa 2022

Due to the current pandemic crisis, the Chinese government released the new policy that China’s Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi said would “provide a solution for the issue of foreign students in China, and will make China a country where foreign students can work without difficulty.” This policy is the first step towards the goal of providing the legal basis for foreign students to work in China.

They will then undergo a three-month training that includes both on-site and in-flight training, and the training includes three levels: “General Training”, “Basic Training”, and “Advanced Training”. For foreign students who already have the relevant experience, they will be able to obtain the “Advanced Training”.

Some provinces require that quarantine to last for more than 14 days, some require a quarantine of 14 to 21 days, and others require a quarantine of more than 21 days. These quarantine requirements vary and are based on the level of risk for each province. For example, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing require a quarantine of 21 days for Foreign Students. However, Guangdong and Jiangsu require a quarantine of 14 days and Zhejiang requires a quarantine of 28 days.

Qualification Requirements for China Work Visa

You must have a Z Visa to teach English in China, and that is the only legal choice. In order to have this done, you'll need a Chinese Work Permit, a letter of recommendation from a company in China, and then you may apply for the visa.

The PU letter and Z visa can only be applied for after you have a signed teaching contract, so find a job first and then return to step 1.

As a result, in order to get a Z Visa:

18 to 55 (exceptions are given for those who are a few years older than the maximum age restriction and can find a company eager to recruit them)

Any Bachelor's Degree will suffice (does not need to be English or teaching-specific)

Have a TEFL certificate

Have a minimum of 100 hours of classroom experience (in Tier 1 cities like Shanghai and Beijing, the minimum requirement is 120hr)

Teaching in China requires a valid Z-Visa, which may be obtained by meeting the same conditions as applying for a Z-Visa in the United States. Please see our article on Am I Eligible to Teach in China? for more information on the possible exceptions.

The following is a comprehensive list of all the paperwork you'll need to apply for a China visa. However, not every document is required at every stage, so we'll go through what you should have on hand at each stage in turn.

Once again, for the sake of the youngsters in the rear, you must already have a teaching position in China before applying for this China work visa. You'll get all the paperwork you need from your employer.

If you plan on getting multiple visas or entry/exit stamps, you'll want a passport with at least six months of remaining validity and three blank visa pages.

As per China's visa photo requirements, 10 passport photos are needed.

Authenticated and notarized copies of your Bachelor's degree and TEFL certification

Invitation to apply for a job (supplied by your prospective employer)

Notification of China Work Permit*

You have a clean criminal record in your own country.

This is an application for a Z visa that has been correctly completed.
